Exploring ASEAN Production Opportunities: Indonesia (2020 Oct.)
On 30 October 2020, our Deputy director, Ms. Linda Lau was a guest speaker at a HKTDC event with InachamHK. In view of the US-China trade frictions, many manufacturers have moved part of their production activities to ASEAN countries. Notably, Indonesia is endowed with an abundant labor supply and rich resources, making it an alternative production option for Hong Kong companies. This seminar will discuss the labor market conditions, logistics development and manufacturing bases in Indonesia, while the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department will introduce the “Free Trade Agreement Transhipment Facilitation Scheme”, and the Hong Kong Productivity Council will explain the application process of the “BUD Fund” (“FTA / ASEAN Program”).


Investing in Indonesia and Tax Considerations (2020 Oct.)
On 21 October 2020, EY and InachamHK held a joint webinar event, namely: Investing in Indonesia and tax considerations. This event was very useful for parties who have concerns about taxation in Indonesia, raising the topic: types of business establishment in Indonesia, overview of the Indonesian tax regime, introduction of the HK-Indonesia tax treaty, application for HK tax resident certificate for tax treaty benefits and importunate into Indonesia.
InachamHK and KADIN DKI Jakarta MOU Signed (2020 Aug.)
In order to strengthen cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Hong Kong, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) DKI Jakarta again entered into a cooperation agreement with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
With this cooperation, according to the Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta Kadin, Diana Dewi, it is hoped that it can improve the economy in all sectors, especially the industrial sector, which is currently severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.


Riding Ups and Downs: Hong Kong - Indonesia Partnership webinar (2020 Aug.)
Mr. James Hartono, President of InachamHK was invited as one of the Panelists of Riding Ups and Downs: Hong Kong-Indonesia Partnership webinar, which is organized by Commerce and Economic Development Bureau HKSAR and Indonesian Consulate General Hong Kong on 18 August 2020.

Information on investing in Economic and Trade Co-operation Zones in Indonesia will also be featured.

Property Insiders Indonesia 2020 (2020 May)
The webinar was co-hosted by InachamHK, Inacham Macau and PT Hong Kong Kingland supported by the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong, Colliers International and AREBI. Special thanks to The Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong and Macau Real Estate Association for their support and participation.
The event, which was attended by more than 120 enthusiastic participants, discussed the market trend in Indonesia, challenges and opportunities for Hong Kong developers in Indonesia, marketing strategy for Indonesia real estate market, government policies, taxation, etc. InachamHK hopes that thematic webinars with interactive sessions will be helpful for those who are planning to expand business to Indonesia.

The webinar, which was also attended by more than 100 participants, discussed general business opportunities in Indonesia, the economic climate, and opportunities in facing competition with neighboring countries.

Networking Dinner for Watch Trade (2020 Feb)

On 17th February 2020 in Jakarta, a delegation organized by The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trade & Industries Ltd. and HKTDC invited InachamHK to attend a networking dinner. A representative of InachamHK did a brief sharing session, as well as answered questions related to foreigners establishing businesses in Indonesia. Most delegates were companies that are watchmakers or traders from Hong Kong and mainland China that are looking to trade their products or establish presence in Indonesian market. With the growing business pressure in China in recent years, most companies were eager to seek reliable partnerships in the largest economy of Southeast Asia.
